INTRO

A very popular model in HYPR Hawaii‘s premium board line-up, Pono’s are great all-around boards that both surf and paddle well. With its slightly elonganted nose, and flow-thru double concave hull, the board‘s dimensions are not reflective of its water performance in any way. The unique hull offers nearly effortless speed and glide due to the lowest water friction index of any other board out there. A true hybrid, they are the Swiss army knife of all boards in that they will cruise along flat water with ease but step on the rail and you will be carving waves. Dropping into waves with rail-biting bottom turns, the board keeps its carrying speed even when execution is not perfect: this is a forgiving and flattering board guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

There is a Pono sized for everyone. Pono 9 is also great for surfing without a paddle! Pono 10 complains about nothing and says ‘yes‘ to everything. Pono 11 easily chews through the miles on a long tour. Pono 11XL, because big people like to have fun too! Pono translates to righteousness and balance. All Pono‘s embody this spirit - maneuverability, balance and performance in spades.

CONSTRUCTION

High strength and ultra-light construction materials are used throughout.

Military Grade S-Glass layers on top and bottom. S-glass soaked in epoxy is lighter and has a much higher tensile strength and modulus than common (E-glass) fibreglass.

Super-light EPS foam core, surrounded by a full perimeter, reinforced S-Glass rail.

Integrated stringer construction provides the board‘s strength and rigidity.

Epoxy infused into wood veneer for additional strength. Extra layers to reinforce the standing area.

Gore-tex vent valve & GoPro mount & cargo net at rear.

Honeycomb carbon fin set.
