HYPR Hawaii Premium Board Range

Our boards are designed and tested rigorously in Kona Hawaii by Ian Foo and his dedicated team. Known around the globe for their speed, stability and low weight to size ratio. You won’t paddle anything quite like a HYPR Hawaii Paddle Board.

Design & Performance

The essential feature of HYPR Hawaii boards and the key to their speed, performance and handling is the patented hull design. The HYPR board has a unique 10mm deep double concave hull which increases lift, improves tracking, and makes these boards extraordinarily fast for their width. This advanced hydrodynamic design channels the water flow over the fins, giving a smoother, faster, and more stable glide. After the first few strokes of the paddle, the 3 upward sloping chines move the lateral waterline inward to lift the board effortlessly and reduce the overall width of the board being pushed through the water. A 32 inch wide board glides and paddles like a 26 when moving. Simply put... reduced resistance equals speed.

HYPR Hawaii Premium Board Construction

All HYPR Hawaii premium boards boast the following features:

Military Grade S-glass soaked in epoxy is lighter and has a much higher tensile strength and modulus than common (E-glass) fibreglass.
Super-light EPS foam core and wood blocks on nose and tail.
Epoxy infused into wood veneer for additional strength. On all wood veneer boards, the standing area is reinforced with an additional glass and wood veneer patch.
Gore-tex vent valve and GoPro mount.
Large cargo net at rear & Honeycomb carbon fin set.

Classic Board Construction

Ian Foo, HYPR Hawaii's co-founder designs the boards. A lifelong ocean waterman, he's as passionate about paddling as he is meticulous about build quality and design detail... What's the deal with classic construction HYPR Hawaii premium boards?

They look amazing but what's even more special is underneath... Stuff that you don't see. If you're not interested in the details, then you probably won't be interested in our boards. For all the technical geeks out there and our board owners, I'll explain why we build boards like a Bentley rather than Toyota (nothing wrong with Toyota but we're different ) - we vacuum bag our boards at least TWICE. Construction is BULLETPROOF - I was willing to add a few pounds, with the use of more expensive materials which also upped the labor quotient significantly ... so that it will last "forever" as all classics should ... Everything is hand done, there is very little automation.

There’s a thick solid wood stringer on all boards (other brands usually do not put stringers on large SUPs). We also put an 8cm S-Glass stringer double layer on top of the wood stringer down the middle of the board from nose to tail, to make a true I - Beam construction. This strengthens the board dramatically and it is tied to the carbon frame rail around the entire board.

There's much to the beautiful art object ... it is much more than skin deep.

Molded Board Construction

Innovative molded construction methods have produced this new line of premium HYPR Hawaii boards which are approximately 10 to 15% lighter than their classic board equivalents. Ultra-light and high strength construction materials are used throughout.

Engineered stringer equivalent construction provides the board’s strength and rigidity. The molded unibody shell is strategically reinforced along five bottom chines, and is directly tied to the carbon rails around the entire board. Epoxy resin soaked into S-Glass layers underneath the wood veneer also contributes to the rigidity and significant tensile strength of these boards.

UNOBTAINIUM

....is formed when highly skilled labour apply innovative manufacturing methods towards a difficult construction task. Nothing about building a HYPR board is easy; the end result truly is UNOBTAINIUM. Other SUP manufacturers simply don’t do this as the innovations and skilled workers are not easily found. UNOBTAINIUM captures the essence of creating a HYPR Hawaii board.

9'0" x 31" x 4.5"
The smallest in the Pono range allows smaller or lighter riders to have the lightest board possible for their everyday needs whether it be rivers, open ocean or waves.

At 11’ in length, and with a slight elongated nose, the Pono glides effortlessly. This is a hybrid touring / small wave board. Although it doesn’t have a massive overall length, you will find it paddles with ease.

Our patented hull was created to make our boards surf as fast as possible and now we have transferred that design into our raceboards. Coffee Table 7'0/8'0

The Coffee Table is like no other board out there, in keeping with our patented hull design, the cut-off nose makes this one of our most manoeuvrable boards that will have you carving every wave with ease. Built with gold-standard vacuum-bagged construction for superior strength and lightness using Epoxy EPS foam core and a solid wood stringer. Once you fit the foil and are out in the open ocean you will instantly feel how light the board is allowing early flight and easy manoeuvrability. The spilt deck pad allows you to have your foot positioning directly over the mast which will give you full control over your movements.
